Credit Analyst II

Description:Under moderate supervision, performs a variety of duties to support credit administration, relationship managers, and others by compiling detailed information; performing credit analysis; interpreting risks in order to determine overall creditworthiness and repayment ability of the borrower; monitoring portfolio risks by performing related servicing tasks; and making recommendations to Credit Administrator on merits of credit requests.
Duties:Spreads the customer financial information.
Analyzes financial data, global cash flow, spreadsheets, and other financial and non-financial data to identify credit strengths/weaknesses, potential risks, and the borrower’s and/or guarantors’ ability to repay and manage obligations.
Calculates project-specific cash flow, global cash flow, and key financial ratios using one or more of the Bank’s existing financial analysis software packages.
Researches, analyzes, and documents the borrower’s current banking relationships such as loan exposure, deposit relationship, and management of accounts.
Identifies performance trends and root causes associated with borrower, guarantor, and related entity historical performance.
Researches specific industry benchmarks to assess risks and identify issues that may significantly impact future performance of the borrower.
Assists in preparation of Credit Memo and Credit Approval Report, including documents outlining results of all analyses and calculations, to decision a recommendation.
Reviews and tests customer borrowing base certificates to monitor compliance.
Reviews and tests applicable loan covenants to determine compliance.
Assists with preparation of annual review analyses as directed.
Provides relationship officers with guidance and coaching on matters of lending, underwriting, and credit risk management.
Accompanies relationship manager on customer or prospect calls as requested.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:4-year college degree in Business, Accounting, Economics or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Five to seven years experience in financial analysis, credit analysis, or risk management support with a commercial bank or related financial service company
Thorough knowledge of federal and state regulations governing credit administration
Comprehensive working knowledge of consumer and commercial loan documentation, loan classifications, reserve analysis and risk management techniques
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong math and analytical skills
Detail-oriented with ability to multi-task in a high-volume environment
Proficiency in Windows-based PC systems, spreadsheet, word processing and analytical software
